Past continuous tense in Hindi, past tense का एक प्रकार हें । जो की उस परिस्थिति को दर्शाता हें जो की भूतकाल में घटित होने के बाद निरंतर चल रही थी।
Past continuous tense in Hindi
जब हिन्दी के वाक्यों के अंत में "रहा था , रही थी, रहे थे, आता हें । जो की भूतकाल मे शुरू हुए किसी काम की निरंतरता अर्थात उस काम को लगातार होने को दर्शाता हें । वहाँ पर Past continuous tense होता हें ।
Past continuous tense in Hindi. की परिभाषा
"इस काल का उपयोग भूतकाल में घटित उन घटनाओ को बताने के लिए करते हें जो भूतकाल में निरंतर हो रही थी ।"
पहचान - रहा थे, रही थी, रहे थे ।
- I was eating: मैं खा रहा था (if the speaker is male) / मैं खा रही थी (if the speaker is female)
- They were playing: वे खेल रहे थे (if the subject is the male or mixed group) / वे खेल रही थीं (if the subject is female)

- Past continuous tense in Hindi में पहला नियम यह कहता हें की Singular subject के साथ हमेशा was का प्रयोग किया जाता हें ।
- दूसरे नियम के अनुसार past contiinuous tense में pluaral subject के साथ were का प्रयोग किया जाता हें ।

Affirmative sentence
1. में आपका इंतजार कर रहा था ।
I was waiting for you.
2. तुम मेरा इंतजार कर रहे थे ।
You were waiting for me.
3. वह अपने कमरे मे प्रवेश कर रहा थे ।
He was entering his room.
4. हर्षिता मछलियों को देख रही थी ।
Harshita was watching the fish.
5. पिताजी पत्रिका पढ़ रहें थे ।
Father was reading a magazine.
6. हम रंजन को तस्वीर दिखा रहे थे ।
We were showing the picture to Ranjan.
7. विधीयर्थी इधर –उधर घूम रहे थे ।
The students were roaming hither and thither.
8. शिवम मदिरापान कर रही थी ।
Shivam was drinking.
9. सविता जोरों से हंस रही थी ।

17. इस समय वर्षा हो रही थी ।

18. वे वार्षिक परीक्षा की तैयारी कर रहें थे ।
